The National Senior Games scheduled for Easter Monday was given a much needed shot in the arm on Tuesday March 18, 2008 with a $12,000 sponsorship cheque from Super J Supermarkets. The Peace and Love Programme initiated by Honorable Richard Frederick, Parliamentary Representative for Castries Central moved to a new level during the month of March, with the introduction of a basketball component to the programme. The Ciceron Children's home has been equipped with state of the art solar water heating systems thanks to the generous contribution of Consolidated Foods Limited, the US Ambassador to the Eastern Caribbean, Windjammer Landing and Ecosun Ltd. The four (4) solar water heaters valued at just over $17,000 have been described as "a very timely and much needed gift which will bring a large measure of comfort to the children of the home".
